Description:

Cala Castell is situated at 17 nautical miles from Port de Pollença between the steep and abrupt cliffs of Punta Galera and the flat rocky areas of Punta Topina. The name is given by Castell del Rei, a rocky castle of Saracene origin (13th century), which used to defend the coastal area from the higher part of Serra de Ternelles (476 metres), from where there are some breathtaking panoramic views over the north of Majorca and even the island of Minorca.

This wild beautiful beach is located at the end of a cliff and is divided into two coves, formed by pebbles, gravel, sand and some rests of posidonia.

Anchoring: The marine and underwater conditions are good for anchoring boats but it can be insecure when the wind blows from the north. The depth ranges from six metres 200 metres from the coast to three metres 100 meters from the beach, on a rocky ground with seaweed.

Remember that it is important to raise anchor if the wind of NW, N or NE increases.
