Description:
Located at the east coast, is one of the most important and attractive natural harbours of the island (39 ° 25.4 N - 03 ° 15.8 E).
The port is well protected with a deep and narrow entrance, though much of the interior is relatively shallow: under 2.5m.
It was particularly important for commercial traffic on the island, currently non-existent and has become a fishing and recreational marine. Are worthy of note at this port the multitude of "escars" or dock ramps covered by vault, very common in the ports of the Mallorca but achieved notoriety at Porto Colom.
It has 200 moorings managed by the Port Authority , of which 38 are for boats in transit. Plus the 252 moorings managed by the NC Portocolom operating in the northwest corner of the harbour. Furthermore in summer time 2 pontoons for visitors are installed. With many more mooring buoyslaid south of the port, anchoring is now technically prohibited, though many yachts do still anchor.
Mooring reservation: To reserve contact the port office via: VHF Channel 9 • Tel: 971824683 e-mail: port.portocolom @ portsib.es • on-line through Portbooker •
We can also anchor to the east, respecting the marked way for access to the port and for transit of fishing boats.
